Pilgrims travelling from southern Umbria towards Assisi, upon reaching this pass overlooking the Umbrian valley and catching sight of the city of Saint Francis in the distance, would kneel down and make the sign of the cross.
In this very place were founded the “Valico dei Pellegrini” and “Passo dei Pellegrini” farm stays.
The properties are set within an estate of 130 hectares, 80% of which is woodland, rich in trails perfect for relaxing walks, scenic viewpoints and resting spots.
There are three farmhouses, named by the English owners Villa Marianna, Posto del Sole and Vista del Mondo.
The farmhouses are built from local stone by skilled artisans, respecting traditions and local values, and updated to meet the modern needs of rural tourism.
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxation is guaranteed.
Guests can fully enjoy the coolness provided by the shade of the many trees and breathe the oxygen of our mountains, standing between 600 and 1000 metres above sea level — ideal for cardiovascular balance — while admiring the splendid nature and the panoramic views surrounding the properties as far as the eye can see.
